Salt-Water Sandals sizing can be confusing, so which size should you buy? The Original Salt-Water sandals were designed in the 1940's and are still made using the same techniques which is why Salt-Water Sandals still have their own unique sizing system.
We understand that while this little quirk adds to their charm, it also makes it tricky to work out what size you need to order. We provide a size guide at the bottom of this page and below are some useful tips on how to ensure your sandals have the best fit.
First. It's good to know that the sandal is meant to be close-fitting, your foot should be sitting close to the back of the sole, whilst at the front, your toes should be at the line of stitching.
Second. As they are made of leather Salt-Water sandals can take a bit of stretching. At first, they can feel tight across your foot. You can relax the leather by gently pulling the leather straps in opposite directions.
Third Please consult the size chart carefully. If you have a previous pair of Salt-Water sandals or are new to buying Salt-Waters please take your time as all of the sizes look very similar.
To order online if it's your first time with Salt-Water, please order your actual UK shoe size (this is not the size printed on the sandals).
To convert from a UK shoe size to the Salt-Water size you need to add one, so UK shoe size 3 would be a Salt-Water sandal size 4.
